Dallas, TX, October 5, 2026 - Avon Cleaners, a third-generation, family-owned dry cleaning and laundry service based in Dallas, is highlighting round-the-clock kiosk drop-off for wash and fold laundry at its Hillcrest Avenue location as summer schedules raise laundry volume for households in Highland Park and University Park. The 24/7 access is a way to manage laundry service that Highland Park, TX residents need outside the location's staffed hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
Summer Activity Raises Laundry Volume for Highland Park Families
The Hillcrest location, at 6301 Hillcrest Ave, sits along the Park Cities corridor bordering Highland Park, University Park, and the Southern Methodist University campus. Families cycling through swim practice, day camps, and summer travel typically generate more loads of laundry each week than during the school year, and store hours alone do not always match that pace. A Gallup survey conducted with the National Summer Learning Association and the American Camp Association found that 55 percent of U.S. parents reported their child took part in at least one structured summer activity in 2023, a pattern that keeps activewear, swimwear, and camp uniforms in regular rotation throughout the season.
"Summer is when our Hillcrest customers need the most flexibility," said Callie Godo, owner of Avon Cleaners. "The kiosk lets a family drop off wash and fold laundry before a 6 a.m. swim practice or after a 9 p.m. return from camp, without waiting for the store to open."
How the Wash and Fold Process Works at the Hillcrest Kiosk
The process behind wash and fold laundry that Highland Park, TX customers use at the kiosk mirrors the service the company has run since 1968: items are sorted, washed, dried, and folded, then checked for cleanliness and overall quality before packaging. Some households call the offering fluff and fold, though the process stays the same regardless of the name used. The location also accepts loads for dry cleaning through the same kiosk system.
Pickup, Delivery, and Same-Day Options Round Out the Service
Beyond the kiosk, the location offers pickup and delivery of laundry in Highland Park, TX for households that prefer to skip a drop-off trip entirely, alongside in-store service during staffed hours. Same-day laundry service is available on qualifying orders, giving households a faster option when needed, separate from the standard turnaround. The location is also accessible for those who need laundry service near SMU Dallas. Faculty, staff, and summer-session residents within walking distance of the storefront, and parents visiting campus for orientation and move-in weekends who often need formalwear or everyday laundry handled quickly, use this service.
"Families have used us for decades, and the kiosk is simply a new way to reach a process we've run since 1968," Godo said. "Whether someone drops off a wash and fold order or a batch of shirts to launder for the week ahead, the goal is the same: give people their time back."
How Highland Park Families Can Get Started
Highland Park and University Park households can access the Hillcrest kiosk any hour, seven days a week, with staffed support available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families interested in setting up an account for kiosk drop-off, pickup, and delivery, or in-store service can visit Avon Cleaners for laundry service near Hillcrest Ave. Call (214) 521-9927 or email service@avoncleaner.com to get started before the next round of summer laundry, camp gear, and travel wardrobes piles up.
