DALLAS, Texas, November 3, 2026 - With Southern Methodist University's fall semester now underway, Avon Cleaners is outlining how faculty, staff, and graduate students near its Hillcrest Avenue store can use scheduled dry cleaning pickup and delivery that Highland Park residents already rely on, without adjusting a campus or office schedule. The family-owned cleaner has operated in the Highland Park and University Park corridor since 1968.
A Cleaner Positioned Inside the SMU Corridor
The Hillcrest Avenue location sits inside the same corridor as the university, bordering Highland Park and University Park. Southern Methodist University staff and students, alongside Dallas families who have used the cleaner for decades, have shaped demand for pickup and delivery dry cleaning service near SMU, Dallas, TX, that does not require a storefront visit.
Pickup and delivery has become a common expectation among time-constrained professionals across the dry cleaning industry, a shift the company has applied to a campus-adjacent market it already serves.
Scheduling Built Around Campus and Office Hours
Faculty office hours and graduate student schedules rarely match a fixed storefront window, so requests for scheduled dry cleaning pickup and delivery are handled through an account portal or iOS mobile app rather than a walk-in counter. A 24/7 kiosk at the Hillcrest Avenue store, a feature unique to that location, gives customers an additional option outside scheduled hours. Customers set up an account once, in person or through the app, before using the kiosk for pickup or drop-off at any hour. Same-day processing follows a 9 AM cutoff for garments dropped off at the counter or 24-hour kiosk. This is applicable only for eligible garments. As specialty items take longer, their return date must be confirmed.
"Our Hillcrest Avenue store sits close enough to campus that a faculty member or graduate student can request a pickup between classes and not think about it again until the order is ready," said Callie Godo, third-generation owner of Avon Cleaners. "That kind of convenience is what this corner of Dallas has come to expect from us."
A Family Business Serving Two Distinct Neighborhoods
Avon Cleaners also operates a second location on Lovers Lane, but the Hillcrest Avenue store draws a distinct mix of customers shaped by its position near campus. Visiting parents during game-day weekends and move-in season often notice the storefront and return later when a student needs formalwear cleaned.
Door-to-door dry cleaning pickup and delivery for Highland Park residents is available. Delivery service is available in Dallas, Far North Dallas, Highland Park, University Park,
Frisco, Plano, Trophy Club, Farmers Branch, Las Colinas, Addison, Southlake, Grapevine and Collin County.
"Families in Highland Park have trusted us with the same routine for years, and we built the scheduling for the SMU area around that same standard," Godo said.
